Senior Data Engineer

Due to our continuous success and high demand from our clients, we are searching for a Senior Data Engineer with a proven track record to join the Quantexa family. 🚀

What does a Senior Data Engineer role at Quantexa look like?

To succeed as a data engineer at Quantexa, you need to be comfortable interacting with both internal and external stakeholders. You will manage, transform, and cleanse high-volume data, assisting our Tier 1 clients in addressing business matters in fraud, compliance, and financial crime.

Agility is crucial to our success at Quantexa, and regular team sprints and Scrum meetings with your project team are essential. You'll collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Business Analysts, Technical Leads, Project Managers, and Solutions Architects, all shared the same goal of meeting client expectations and providing top-notch service. 🥇

We want our staff to utilize the most up-to-date and leading open-source big-data technology available. You'll use tools such as Spark, Hadoop, Scala, Data Fusion, and Elasticsearch, with our platform hosted on Google Cloud (GCP). Our computer language of choice is Scala, but if you're not fluent in it or haven't used it before, we ensure every Quantexan goes through our training academy to become comfortable and confident with our platform.

Requirements

What do I need to have?

• Individuals with proven big data experience from either an implementation or data science perspective are needed.
• An interest in learning and coding in Scala

• Having experience in an Agile environment
• In-depth knowledge of at least one big data technology such as Spark, Hadoop, or Elasticsearch.
• A strong background in coding, specifically in Java, Python, or Scala
• Experience in developing data processing pipelines for production usage in "hands off" batch systems, this includes traditional ETL pipelines and/or analytics pipelines.
• A desire and motivation to grow inside one of the UK's fastest-growing scale-ups.
• Consultation or business-facing skills and a willingness to interact with clients.
