Peraton, a leader in national security services, is currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to enhance our team of skilled professionals. This position offers a hybrid work model initially based at our Raleigh RITSC South Building, transitioning to partially remote work.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer at Peraton, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:

• Support and maintain the data warehouse.
• Engage in the design and construction of data warehouses, including scripting and development of stored procedures.
• Implement data strategy techniques to improve data management efficiency.
• Create and maintain documentation for system and program operations supporting the data warehouse.
• Manage metadata repositories and implement data verification and testing procedures.
• Develop scripts for indexing and viewing to enhance data analysis and retrieval.
• Work independently on critical program functions and oversee direct reports or project-specific teams.

Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

• Academic background with a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or a High School diploma with 9+ years of experience in data management fields.
• US Citizenship or Green Card holder with the ability to obtain Postal clearance.
• Expertise in Ab Initio Graphical Development Environment (GDE), ANSI SQL, Teradata SQL extensions, and UNIX commands.
• Experience with Teradata utilities, Linux shell scripting, and cloud operations in the Azure environment.
• Proven capability in data engineering, AI/ML implementations, and leading edge data solution projects.
• Ability to independently manage high-visibility projects or mission-critical aspects of a program.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in data warehouse design, construction, and maintenance.
• Skills in mentoring and training less experienced staff.
