Course Hero is hiring! We seek an experienced Senior or Staff level Data Scientist to join our Data Science and Analytics team, with members located in North America and India. The role involves working with large data sets and utilizing deep statistical models to provide actionable insights for high-impact business issues. You will interpret and communicate the findings of your research, explaining their significance and proposing product alterations, new features, and A/B tests for implementation.
Openings are available in our Question and Answer (Q&A) and our SEO teams. The Senior Data Scientist will lead analyses and measurements to offer insights and suggestions for product enhancement. We're looking for a candidate with a passion for product analytics and experiment design, expertise in tackling unforeseen questions, and proficiency in driving product decision-making through thorough analyses.
The Q&A team aims to integrate our pool of human tutors with our advanced AI capabilities to create an optimal study experience for students while maintaining cost-efficiency. We are also consistently improving our platform as a work opportunity for tutors.
The SEO team continually enhances our understanding of search engine dynamics to drive large volumes of high-quality organic traffic.
The recruited person will:
-Identify patterns and trends for different user segments, creating reports, dashboards, and models to proactively identify opportunities.
-Manage experiments from design to data tracking.
-Propose strategic initiatives to assist our functional partners in achieving their goals and driving growth.
Qualifications:
-Senior candidates should have 5+ years of progressive data science experience, while staff candidates should have 8+ years.
-Applicants should hold an MS degree in a scientific or quantitative field, have good proficiency in Python or R and SQL, have a deep understanding of data analysis techniques, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Bonus Points:
-Analytics experience in two-sided marketplaces and/or with NLP.
-Search engine optimization (SEO)experience.
-Working knowledge of Databricks, AWS, Google Analytics, Tableau, and the experience in the education or e-commerce domain.
This role is based in India, remote within the country. Candidates must commit to overlapping with Pacific Standard time on business hours three times per week.
