Position Overview

This vital role at Highmark Health is aimed at greatly enhancing our advanced analytics capabilities by identifying, designing, and engineering analytical solutions. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will collaborate with both internal and external experts to build our portfolio of next-generation analytic products.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will:

• Work closely with the business to comprehend their processes and goals, using analytics to drive significant value.
• Independently assemble datasets and utilize advanced modeling techniques such as regression models, neural networks, and natural language processing to create predictive models.
• Communicate complex data insights in a clear manner to stakeholders, influencing strategy and decision-making in the healthcare sector.
• Manage projects from conception to delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and high standards of research and documentation.
• Continue to advance your skills and knowledge in analytical techniques, maintaining your status as a subject knowledge expert.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master’s degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree plus three years of relevant experience as a substitute for a Master’s degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in data science; additional experience in healthcare and with AI/ML development tools like Python/R is preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL, BigQuery, Python, R, and data analysis and statistical analysis tools.

Compensation and Benefits

Highmark Health offers a competitive salary range of $92,300 to $170,800 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We provide a comprehensive benefits package that supports our team members’ health, wellness, retirement, and work-life balance.
