Reporting to the VP of Credit Risk Strategy, this role has high internal and external exposure.

Role Overview

The Senior Director for Credit Risk Strategy is pivotal in managing credit risk while balancing growth objectives. You will develop and execute strategies, assess credit risk across various products, and oversee portfolio performance, leveraging analytical skills and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute credit risk management strategies aligned with the organization’s objectives.
  • Assess credit risk across products and customer segments.
  • Optimize risk-adjusted returns and identify portfolio diversification opportunities.
  • Design and implement end-to-end solutions for customer acquisition.
  • Establish and digitize payment and risk management policies.
  • Invest strategically in risk management systems and tools.
  • Manage the onboarding flow with autonomy and provide detailed assessments.
  • Partner with Analytics and Data Science to monitor risk exposure and drive efficiency.
  • Track KPIs and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and influence risk management strategies.
  • Develop and lead a team of data scientists specialized in credit risk evaluation.

What We’re Looking For

  • 12+ years of experience in credit risk strategy with domain knowledge in traditional and non-traditional products.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience driving team objectives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Strong data analysis skills with expertise in predictive modeling and ML models.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS, and Python for analytical purposes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks cross-functionally.
  • Collaborative leader fostering innovation and knowledge-sharing.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base salary range for this role in Draper, UT, is $206,900—$259,000 USD. This role is eligible for BILL’s bonus and equity plan, plus a comprehensive benefits package including:
