About the Role

Our Backend Services team is crucial in ensuring the reliability, scalability, usability, and security of our customers' workloads. They oversee the services, processes, and tools that enable turnkey scaling solutions across multiple clouds. Team members blend software development practices with operational expertise to manage the entire service lifecycle, including CI/CD, orchestration, scaling, progressive rollouts, and SRE fundamentals.

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Media and Entertainment Backend Services Team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Kubernetes-based services that facilitate multi-cloud batch workloads. Experience with deploying infrastructure and managed services in diverse cloud environments is essential.

Responsibilities

• Build services that support multi-cloud batch workloads, optimized for VFX, HPC, and AI verticals.
• Advance our event-driven architecture by creating new real-time services with ServerSentEvents, Websockets, and HTTP2/3 streaming.
• Enhance our observability and system resilience with insights into service performance and workflows.
• Contribute to the architectural design of the platform by writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
• Collaborate, share knowledge, and foster a supportive team environment.

• Ability to break down complex problems and drive solutions.
• Proven experience in customer-facing product development.
• Effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
• A broad technical background with interest in deepening skills in a growing startup.
• Appreciation for transparency, promoting trust, and empowerment through open information access.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $170,000 to $200,000, based on factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Hybrid Workplace

Successful candidates will undergo onboarding training at our NJ Headquarters within the first several weeks of employment, with subsequent quarterly travel requirements for 1 week. For those within a 30-mile radius of our New Jersey, New York, or Philadelphia offices, we expect you to join us in the office at least three times a week to foster connections, collaboration, and creativity.
