About Fusion Application as a Service (FAaaS)

Fusion Application as a Service (FAaaS) is an exciting new team at the intersection of infrastructure and applications. We aim to transform some of the largest SaaS properties in the industry. Our mission is to make Oracle's SaaS portfolios, including the multi-billion dollar revenue-generating Fusion applications, first-class Oracle cloud citizens.

Your Role: Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer on the FAaaS team, you will contribute to building distributed, scalable, fault-tolerant software systems supporting our business needs and end customers. You will manage the entire software lifecycle including development, testing, CI/CD, and production operations. You'll need to balance product feature development with production operational concerns such as writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, and instrumentation for metrics and events utilizing OCI's extensive internal tooling.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in shipping scalable, cloud-native distributed systems.
• BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Capable of working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
• Strong understanding of Computer Science concepts like data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms.
• Proficiency in Java/C++, Python, and shell scripting tools.
• Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or Mesos and Helm Charts.
• Strong experience with GitHub/Bitbucket, TeamCity/Hudson, and Maven/Gradle.
• Expertise in building highly available services with a solid understanding of service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols.
• Experience with Cloud Storage technologies like Block Storage and File Storage.
• Hands-on experience with btrfs filesystem is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or Electrical Science.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience building control plane/data plane solutions for cloud-native companies.
• Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving performance issues in complex environments.
• Deep understanding of Unix-like operating systems.
• Production experience with Cloud and Machine Learning technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge in Data Science and Machine Learning is beneficial but not required.
