Job Description

Boeing Research & Technology META (Middle East, Türkiye, Africa) region is seeking a motivated Senior Software & Research Engineer/Scientist to join our team in Istanbul, Türkiye. This role involves full-stack development of production-grade model-based methods and software tools for data interoperability across multiple engineering design tools. Ideal candidates should have a robust record in research fund capture and proposal development on a national and international level.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be involved in:

• Participating in agile activities, including daily scrums and planning sessions.
• Adhering to team development standards for software processes, tools, and metrics.
• Operating within an international team environment.
• Supporting the Product Owner and Solution Architect to ensure end products meet desired functionality.
• Engaging in proposal development and external fund capture activities such as Tubitak and HORIZON Europe.

This position requires 100% onsite presence. The selected candidate must relocate or reside in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of extensive software development experience with Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience with the Spring framework.
• Familiarity with modern SDLC.
• Solid understanding of OOP, Algorithms, Design Patterns, and Code Refactoring.
• Proficiency with frontend JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React JS, and Node JS.
• Experience with developing and executing unit and integrated test procedures/automation.
• Experience with project fund capture and proposal development.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• PhD in Science or Engineering.
• Experience with Tubitak and European (especially HORIZON) funding schemes.
• Knowledge or experience in the Aviation Industry.
• Exposure to Systems Engineering.
• Advanced experience in JAVA (minimum version 8).
• Experience using dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Experience in developing and maintaining REST APIs and interfaces.
• Familiarity with TDD, agile software development, continuous integration, and dependency management practices.
• Proficiency with Git or other version control systems.
• Experience with Graph databases is a plus.

Educational Background

The typical education and experience requirements include advanced technical education from an accredited engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry course (e.g., Bachelor’s) and 5 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD or Master’s + 3 years of related work experience).

International Position

This is an international, locally hired position in Istanbul, Türkiye. Compensation and benefits are determined at the local level in accordance with Türkiye law. Employment is subject to the candidate's ability to satisfy all Türkiye labor and immigration formalities.
