Job Description

As a Senior Spend Data Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to the organization's spending activities. Your primary objectives include building and maintaining an accurate spend analytics program across the enterprise, identifying saving opportunities, supplier negotiations, and generating spend and savings reports. This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to collaborate with various departments, especially Global Sourcing & Procurement and the Director of Money Manager Program.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection and Management:

  • Gather, normalize, tag, and organize spending data from various sources such as financial records, procurement systems, invoices, and databases.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through regular audits.
  • Build and maintain a spend database with a history of at least five years.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Analyze spending data using analytical tools to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
  • Conduct cost breakdowns and variance analysis to understand spending drivers.
  • Generate actionable recommendations based on data insights.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to track spending performance.
  • Provide regular updates on spending trends and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce customized reports.

Cost Optimization and Efficiency Improvement:

  • Analyze spend across suppliers and categories to support pre-sourcing strategy development.
  • Work with procurement and finance teams to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Recommend process improvements to streamline spending activities.

Forecasting and Budgeting Support:

  • Develop spending forecasts and budgets based on historical data and projections.
  • Offer insights to optimize budget allocation and resource utilization.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in spend analytics.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and data visualization to enhance analysis efficiency.

Qualifications

Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years in data analysis, preferably within finance or procurement roles.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.

Special Requirements:

  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as Adobe Workfront, Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, and PowerBI.
