Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of DevOps engineers to operate SaaS capabilities across multiple cloud regions
  • Design, implement, configure, and use monitoring systems to ensure the health of SaaS products
  • Manage infrastructure for ArcGIS Velocity, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot issues to resolution
  • Design and implement the deployment and upgrade of containerized micro-service components for Esri’s SaaS offerings
  • Participate in technical spike efforts, introducing innovative ideas to future software versions
  • Troubleshoot system incidents and provide detailed root cause analysis reports
  • Provide rotational on-call technical support

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience managing Kubernetes (AKS, EKS), logging and monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus), and container technologies (Docker)
  • Proficient in YAML syntax for writing Azure DevOps pipelines and Kubernetes resources
  • Ability to script infrastructure and application deployments using languages such as Bash, Python, and Golang
  • Expert-level understanding of cloud computing platforms, especially Microsoft Azure or Amazon EC2
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery best practices
  • Working knowledge of source control and issue management systems, preferably GitHub
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, GIS, or information systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, GIS, or information systems
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, administering, and maintaining cloud environments such as Azure, supporting 24×7 high-availability production environments
  • Interest in applying GitOps principles to automate application deployment on Kubernetes clusters
  • Experience operating resilient, highly available, and scalable SaaS capabilities
  • Experience managing Apache Kafka with high-velocity data
  • Proficiency in operating cloud-native storage solutions
  • Familiarity with deploying and operating reactive applications using Scala, the Play framework, and Akka
  • Knowledge of Esri ArcGIS or other web mapping technologies
