Transforming Architecture: Introducing Project Spectra
While FA has been immensely successful, its foundational architecture remains rooted in an on-premise Fusion Middleware stack. Now, the Fusion Applications Technical Architecture team is evolving to define the next-generation architecture, codenamed Spectra, utilizing cloud-native principles and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The shift from a monolithic structure to a cloud-based micro-service architecture opens up opportunities to engage with state-of-the-art technologies and OCI services. This transition also lays the groundwork for improved processes and practices typical of a Software as a Service (SaaS) development model, such as industry-standard developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, safe deployment practices, and cloud-based automated testing.
Service Resilience and Chaos Engineering
Service resilience is paramount for maintaining customer satisfaction. Our mission is to elevate this through a new cloud-native service to practice Chaos Engineering in a touchless and self-service manner. We aim to prepare our services for any disruptions, expected or unexpected, thereby enhancing service resilience and DevOps excellence.
Job Role: Software Developer - Backend
We are seeking passionate and skilled software developers with diverse experience levels and areas of expertise to join our dynamic team. This role includes a periodic on-call rotation as part of our service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and decompose problem scenarios and customer requirements into workable features.
- Develop quality backend code, including validation tests, using languages such as Java and Python.
- Work with cloud-native technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh.
- Utilize PyTorch and recommendation engines to integrate machine learning intelligence into Chaos Engineering.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and follow best engineering practices focusing on performance, scalability, resiliency, and security.
- Collaborate in an inclusive and diverse environment to foster a healthy work culture.
Basic Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent IT industry experience.
- 1-2 years of software development experience.
- Proficient in data structures and computer fundamentals.
- Excellent coding, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A good understanding and/or proven track record with scalable distributed systems.
- Experience in designing and writing REST APIs.
- Preferably experienced with PyTorch or major frameworks for recommendation engines.
- Familiarity with open-source tools and integration.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Previous experience in a DevOps culture, including participation in on-call rotations and demonstrating capabilities in detecting and reducing operational toil.
Compensation and Benefits
The hiring range for this position is from $62,100 to $158,200 per annum, along with potential eligibility for bonuses and equity. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
