Vision and Roadmap

  • Creates and maintains the portfolio vision for the domain.
  • Collaborates with Data Management, IT, and Business Leadership to develop the roadmap of feature delivery.
  • Continuously communicates vision and roadmap to the Data Product Owners.
  • Collaborates with Solution Architects and Domain Data Governance to ensure standards and quality requirements are met.

Portfolio Management

  • Manages and prioritizes the work flow into the domain.
  • Ensures awareness and understanding of business-funded projects impacting the domain.
  • Coordinates release and planning activities with key resources.
  • Supports agile teams, ensuring work is well-defined and continuously flowing to the teams.
  • Guides work through incremental deliveries and coordinates User Acceptance Testing.
  • Collaborates with Solution Architects to align feature sequencing with technology decisions.

Stakeholder Management

  • Identifies current and future stakeholders for the domain.
  • Connects deliverables to stakeholder needs, ensuring continuous improvement and business value.
  • Evaluates tactical solutions against strategic objectives to maximize value and minimize technical debt.

Having experience with Jira or similar tools and a SAFe certification is highly desirable.

As a Data Product Owner, you’ll represent data-related customer needs within a Technology development line, serving as the primary liaison between business and Technology. You’ll create and maintain the vision and value for the data product, re-prioritize backlogs, manage communications between Technology and business, resolve blockers, conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and approve releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as the steward for data product, offering end-to-end subject matter expertise.
  • Acts as a governance advocate, ensuring data metrics are understood and leveraged appropriately.
  • Governs all data access requests and ensures data security throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Defines, prioritizes, and grooms the agile team's product backlog for continuous delivery.
  • Participates actively in scrum meetings, planning, and UAT.
