Job Description

The Sr. Data Architect is responsible for executing data architectural solutions for complex initiatives spanning multiple Lines of Business and control functions. Key responsibilities include facilitating solution-driven discussions, ensuring adherence to enterprise data management policy and standards, and supporting architecture design reviews to integrate data architecture principles into technology solutions. The role also involves educating data management teams on enterprise data architectural principles and data management processes and routines.

Team Overview

The Global Risk Analytics (GRA) and Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) teams are sub-lines of business within Global Risk Management (GRM). They focus on developing consistent and effective models, analytical tools, and tests for risk and capital measurement, management, and reporting across Bank of America. GRA and EIT work closely with the Lines of Business and Enterprise functions to meet internal and regulatory requirements, adapting to changing portfolios, economic conditions, and emerging risks. Through their activities, they drive innovation, process improvement, and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage pre-submission testing based on Enterprise needs for regulatory reports such as 14 Q/M and FFIEC 031.
  • Collaborate with onshore/offshore resources for testing and regulatory report submission.
  • Ensure alignment with the Independent Testing-Enterprise Policy & Standard.
  • Identify themes and trends at various organizational levels and drive testing methods and process evolution.
  • Manage ad hoc projects and audit issues from initiation to completion.
  • Develop a robust team to support new testing approaches and ensure quality testing execution, reporting, and analysis.
  • Maintain relationships with external consultants, Compliance and Operational Risk groups, and participate in strategic planning routines.

Required Skills

  • Over 7 years of experience in Regulatory & Legal Support on risk data and regulatory matters.
  • Conducted assurance activities for regulatory reports such as FR Y-9C, FR Y-15, and FFIEC 031.
  • Experience with test management, quality assurance, and data flow testing in reporting tools like AXIOM and OFSAA.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Proactive and resourceful in resolving issues without all information available.
  • Strong focus on Risk Management and close attention to detail.

Desired Experience

  • Bank Domain Knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel features (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience with audit organizations or significant interaction with internal and external audits.
  • Project Planning/Management skills
  • Basic knowledge of reporting tools like Tableau
  • Familiarity with Policy/Governance and Data-Related Laws, Rules, and Regulations
