Senior Lead Data Engineer - Supply Chain Data Governance

Chick-fil-A is looking for an experienced Senior Lead Data Engineer to join our team. If you have a passion for data engineering, a strong background in analytics infrastructure, and a solid understanding of Supply Chain operations, this role is for you.

Job Overview

As a Senior Lead Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading complex data projects within our Supply Chain division. You'll design, implement, maintain, and optimize analytics infrastructure, addressing data modeling and technology needs. You'll quickly gain mastery in Supply Chain subject matters and operate with wide latitude for action and decision-making on cross-functional projects.

Your expertise in SQL, Python, and cloud database architecture, coupled with strong analytical and data modeling skills, will be critical. You will also act as a subject-matter expert for data and analytics technology, influencing project execution and collaborating with both IT and analyst teams.

Key Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Translating business logic into scalable data and analytics solutions.
• Developing ETL pipelines for Supply Chain, establishing repeatable patterns for scalability.
• Guiding the integration of tool, data, and analytic best practices into operational frameworks.
• Designing tool implementations with Databricks, DBT performance, and cloud compute in mind.
• Ensuring efficient patterns for cloud compute resource usage.
• Maintaining high standards for data model and code quality, along with relevant documentation.
• Implementing data governance and master data management principles.
• Serving as a subject-matter expert for the SCDA community on data and analytic technology issues.
• Driving complex projects to success and empowering team members to achieve impactful results.
• Managing maintenance and quality control on data pipelines and products.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Decision Sciences, Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or similar fields.
• 5-8 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong analytical and data modeling skills.
• Deep understanding of database technology and analytic platforms.
• Strong programming skills in SQL and/or Python.
• Experience in developing and implementing data models for analytic use.
• Moderate experience with cloud database architecture.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration.
• Quick learner and proven problem solver with a keen eye for detail.
• System thinking and process design skills, especially regarding scalability and automation.
• Committed to creating impactful change.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in MIS, Decision Sciences, Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or similar fields.
• Experience with the AWS big data technology stack.
• Extensive experience with Databricks, dbt, Alteryx, or similar ETL platforms.
• Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
• Experience implementing data governance principles.
