About the Role
Position: Systems Engineer
We seek a highly skilled Systems Engineer with experience in the food and beverage or life sciences industries.
As a key member of our Engineering team, you will develop real-time automation solutions from the manufacturing floor to the enterprise level using a variety of programming, configuration, and design tools.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Engineering and implementing real-time automation controls and information solutions.
- Conceptualizing during the design phase of the project life cycle.
- System programming, debugging, and testing.
- Creating project documentation, including engineering notes, proposals, and case studies.
- Commissioning new solutions at client sites and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Learning and adopting new technologies.
- Mentoring colleagues and being challenged in your role.
Technologies Used
- PLC Programming Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Modicon, GE, etc.
- HMI Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Wonderware, Schneider Electric, etc.
- SCADA Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Inductive Automation, Wonderware, GE, Siemens, etc.
- System Networking: Ethernet, Routing and Switching, EthernetIP, Profibus. Experience in DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, Remote IO, Modbus, etc is a plus.
- Vision Platforms: Cognex, Datalogic, Keyence, etc.
- Experience with Python, Historian (PI System), and databases is a plus
- Project Documentation: Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree.
- Experience with some or all the listed technologies.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and self-motivated.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Driver’s License and full-time access to a personal vehicle.
- Willingness to travel 30-50% within the USA and Canada.
