Join Our Team as Director of AI Engineering

Bloomberg Industry Group is seeking a dedicated AI Engineering Director to lead our team of machine learning engineers. This role focuses on ML, Generative AI development, and LLM tuning for corporate business product implementations. Primary Responsibilities

• Lead a skilled team of ML engineers and act as the principal point-of-contact for ML projects.
• Collaborate with domain experts and product managers to translate business needs into ML solutions.
• Incorporate the latest ML & NLP research and advancements into our project roadmaps.
• Develop custom ML/AI prediction models.
• Ensure our products provide maximum impact by implementing the best technical solutions.
• Identify, hire, and inspire top talent, providing guidance and mentorship to the team.
• Coordinate with engineering leadership and partnership groups for technical and resource planning, strategy, and delivery.
• Lead projects and perform other duties as needed.

Job Requirements

• Proven expertise and leadership in ML & AI technologies, including LLM tuning, deep learning, NLP, and supervised & unsupervised learning.
• Experience with all phases of machine learning lifecycles, from problem mapping to model optimization.
• Proficiency in modern deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong understanding of current coding languages, data structures, and related technologies.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and full software development life cycle.
• Ability to lead engineering teams in a dynamic environment with evolving business needs.
• Capacity to develop and secure buy-in for a technical vision that aligns with the business strategy.

Education and Experience

• Expertise in one or more of the following: AI, NLP, ML, Statistical Models, Text Analytics on large data sets.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years in technical leadership roles.
• Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.
