Birlasoft is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist - Power BI to join our dynamic team. This role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Power BI and a strong background in business intelligence and data visualization.

Job Description: Power BI Lead (5A)

Experience Overall: 6 to 8 years, with a minimum of 4 years in Power BI

Relevant Experience:

• 3+ years in Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse
• 3+ years in Data Modeling with Power Query and Power Pivot
• 4+ years with deep technical knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Pro, and Premium
• 2+ years with advanced MDX and DAX expressions

Visualization Skills

• Proficiency in Power BI Desktop for Dashboard and Report Development with strong formatting and navigation skills.
• Excellent understanding of Power BI architecture, integration with embedded applications, and security features.
• Expertise in DAX for creating custom calculations and troubleshooting DAX formulae for performance optimization.
• Adept at developing visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards using Power BI Desktop.
• Experience in translating data requirements into informative reports and visuals.
• Solid knowledge of Power BI report publishing and administration.
• Understanding of role-based security and integration with Power Automate for workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot data-related issues, maintain Power BI infrastructure, and apply the latest Power BI features and best practices.
• Experience with Power BI Gateway, content packs, and advanced features of Power BI embedding using REST API.
• Proficiency in working with multiple data sources and importing data via import, live connection, and direct query methods.
• Creation of High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents and unit test cases.
• Up-to-date with the latest Power BI service features released on a monthly basis.

Database Key Skills

• Hands-on experience with T-SQL for creating stored procedures, functions, and handling data validations.
• Performance monitoring using execution plans and index tuning.
• Design and development of database objects like tables, stored procedures, user-defined data types, and functions.
• Developing and implementing referential integrity rules through constraints, triggers, and views.
• Comprehensive knowledge of data modeling and understanding of dimensions, facts, and data warehouse (DWH) principles.
• Extensive IT experience in database design, development, and business intelligence using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with data models, relationship management, and creating virtual/physical relationships.
• Proficient in SQL query execution plans and SQL profiler for performance tuning of data.

Additional Skills

• Excellent communication skills with clients and stakeholders.
• Capability to self-explore and implement new topics.
