The Pratt & Whitney Digital Technology team seeks a highly energetic Software Developer to bolster our Engineering Applications team. This role offers a chance to design and build next-generation Digital Engineering applications. You'll push the boundaries on knowledge management and partake in critical initiatives supporting our Engineering function.

As a technical contributor, you will join a highly collaborative global team responsible for software delivery to our engineering customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software and web applications in Java, JavaScript or similar languages (e.g., C#, C++).
  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based software.
  • Utilize cloud-native technologies and environments.
  • Deploy applications with cloud technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform) on providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Implement CI/CD Platforms through DevSecOps pipeline (GitHub Actions).
  • Conduct version control (Git) and assist in application performance monitoring (Datadog, Grafana).
  • Execute actions from retrospective team meetings in collaboration with the Product Owner.
  • Collaborate with research scientists, software engineers, and business owners to align cloud engineering requirements.
  • Build enterprise application integration solutions to enable end-to-end data connectivity.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, and databases
  • Experience with Agile tool sets (Confluence, Jira)
  • Knowledge of AWS/Azure native services (e.g., Kafka, EC2, S3, Databricks, Lambda, SQS, VMs)
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture and full-stack development
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and undertake new projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree
  • Experience with FORTRAN
  • Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Good communication skills, strong work ethic, and high integrity
  • Highly self-directed with the ability to learn quickly and drive results
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Proven track record of delivering software solutions
