Technology Specialist III – Senior Cloud Database Architect & Engineer – Digital and Technology Partners – Remote, Req# 3013001
This remote position offers minimal onsite requirements for special projects and key meetings, with advanced notice provided. Join our innovative team to design, implement, and optimize Oracle and SQL database solutions that meet organizational needs, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, efficient database solutions to meet business needs and select appropriate technologies and tools.
- Lead database projects, coordinating activities across technical teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions on time and within budget.
- Provide regular project updates, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Implement automated database provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Integrate database changes into CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment.
- Document automated processes, workflows, and best practices, while providing training and support to IT staff.
- Ensure security compliance by configuring database servers with encryption mechanisms and other security best practices.
- Optimize database environments using cloud-native solutions such as Azure SQL Managed Instances and Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse.
- Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to integrate database solutions into applications and systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience (12 years preferred) in technology, with a strong focus on database architecture and cloud platforms.
- Technical expertise in SQL, HTML, JavaScript, etc., at an expert level.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools, frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in architecting, implementing, and managing Cloud-native database solutions such as Azure SQL Database and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Autonomous Data Warehouse.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
- Experience in implementing security controls and best practices for database environments.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data security and privacy.
- Strong understanding of encryption technologies, access controls, and authentication mechanisms.
