Job Responsibilities

Your new role involves:

  • Leading and providing technical coaching to a dynamic team of software engineers ranging from entry-level to mid-level expertise.
  • Making impactful decisions that affect team resources, budget, and the execution of tactical operations.
  • Enhancing operational efficiencies and functionalities through strategic input to leadership on budget and technical aspects.
  • Ensuring effective collaboration across various teams and stakeholders, while fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Identifying and mitigating project issues, and managing the project portfolio effectively.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

What you need to succeed:

  • At least 5 years of applied experience with a proficiency in Java, Scala, or big data concepts, plus a minimum of 2 years leading technical teams.
  • Strong ability to mentor and steer teams towards achieving strategic goals.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex software solutions using Java or Scala and related frameworks, ideally Spark.
  • Competence in solving data-oriented problems utilizing a variety of technologies like SQL, Spark, NoSQL, and relational databases.
  • Demonstrated experience in hiring and developing talent, with a focus on cloud-native technology.
  • Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Additional assets that will enhance your candidacy:

  • Hands-on coding experience and a strong understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Specialized knowledge in Liquidity or Risk domains and expertise in performance tuning with Spark on large datasets.
