About the role:

We are seeking a diligent Analytics Engineer to join our talented and friendly data team. In this role, you will play a key role in leveraging our best practice analytics engineering methodologies to promote self-service analytics across all business functions. Our team has solidly established a modern data stack over the past few years, significantly contributing to our thriving self-service analytics culture. As we are eager to adopt new and exciting technologies, this role presents an excellent opportunity to further advance our capabilities and consolidate the progress we've made recently, augmenting the effectiveness and efficiency of our data-driven decisions and operations.

Reporting to the Head of Data and Analytics, your role will involve collaborative engagement with business stakeholders across various sectors of the organization. This collaboration will be crucial in prioritizing and implementing projects, improving reporting systems, and driving both results and process enhancements. Your iterative technical solutions will be instrumental to ensure high-quality product delivery and feature rollout at scale in our rapidly evolving startup environment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Assume ownership and manage code connected to transforming our data for self-service analytics.
  • Advocate for software engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration within an analytics codebase.
  • Enhance observability and maintainability in our data environment, monitoring uptime, usage, data quality, and data freshness.
  • Conduct end-to-end investigations during issue occurrences across the entire data stack.
  • Enable data flow to required platforms, ensuring data availability for business use.
  • Work with non-technical team members to understand their data-related challenges and provide necessary data.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize our data stack.

Qualifications

What you need to succeed:

  • Proficiency in SQL, preferably on modern data warehouse platforms.
  • Experience in building data pipelines in service of analytics, preferably utilizing dbt and Looker.
  • Familiarity with BI tools and a proven track record of disseminating data insights via reports and dashboards.
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, preferably Python.
  • An eye for detail, capable of identifying discrepancies and determining the appropriate course of action.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with the payments and financial technology domain.
  • Experience in machine learning pipelines.
  • Experience with modern cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code.
  • Understanding of common statistical methods applied, such as significance testing.
  • Experience with integrations in CRMs or similar systems.
