This job position is open to both internal and external applicants. Please note the following:
UNHCR México's Quality Assurance Initiative (QAI) team collaborates with COMAR (National Asylum System) to provide technical guidance and enhance the quality and efficiency of asylum procedures. The QAI team focuses on specific areas including Refugee Statistics, Registration, and RSD.
As the Assistant Statistics and Data Analysis Officer, you will support the implementation of a comprehensive data management and quality assessment package within COMAR’s Analysis and Statistics Unit by:
Collaborating closely with the UNHCR QAI team, the Registration Officer, and COMAR’s Statistics and Analysis Unit, the officer will ensure the provision and management of high-quality data to inform decision-making processes. Responsibilities include supporting daily data-related activities, developing visualization products and dashboards, and delivering specific products that enhance COMAR’s data reporting and analysis capacities.
1-year relevant experience with an Undergraduate degree; or no experience with a Graduate degree; or no experience with a Doctorate degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Demography, Geography/GIS, Epidemiology, Economics, Physical Sciences, Data Science, or related fields.
1 year in data or statistical field or relevant academic training. Knowledge of national and/or international statistical systems and data analysis, ideally in developmental or humanitarian contexts. Ability to translate planning specifications into technical briefs, and understanding various data collection methodologies.
Experience with refugee government authorities, data management, software development, and managing sensitive data. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, R, SPSS, MS Access, SQL, SSRS, Python, web design, MS Power BI, Redash, Tableau, and ETL processes.
