In this role, you'll have the chance to interact closely with our clients in the public sector. You'll also be accountable for creating new business by locating profitable opportunities, sustaining your client portfolio via establishing solid, enduring relationships, and keeping an eye on the progression of the projects, with the objective to deliver excellent client service and added value services. What will you contribute to the team? Design, execute, and evaluate AI-based NLP applications, including, but not limited to, machine translation (MT) engines; Manage and execute large-scale MT engine trainings for multiple language pairs; automate processes, make efficient use of available resources, examine engine building progress and debugging; Determine criteria for quality evaluation applicable to the datasets used to construct NLP applications, pertaining to both the training data and the test data sets. Apply advanced data analysis and machine learning methods, including "deep learning" based on neural models, to MT-related assignments, which include, but are not limited to domain adaptation; Develop and maintain techniques and software to identify beneficial subsets of existing corpora, filtering out the undesirable parts, using a mix of machine learning strategies with explicit (symbolic) rules. Collect and manage data sources that are useful to enhance MT performance and quality, such as parallel, comparable, and monolingual corpora (including data sourced from the Web or synthetic parallel corpora via back-translation); Collect and manage data sources for constructing improved pre- and post-processing tools (e.g., morphological and syntactic analysis, re-ordering, re-scoring, quality estimation); Guide the development team on incorporating these additional data sources into a functional solution on a software level; Providing guidance on MT quality improvements; assess the effect of changes to the MT engines on output quality and other performance criteria; Participate in functional working group and progress meetings; Take part in scientific conferences and workshops related to Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Machine Translation and underlying technologies; Contribute to and analyse implementations made to meet specific customer needs, such as through the creation of domain-specific MT engines or specific algorithms; Ascertain the benefits and risks of such changes in regards to the total quality of the eTranslation service. Engage with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and developers. Requirements What do you need to succeed in this job? An advanced university degree in data-driven computational linguistics, machine learning, data mining, or statistical data modelling, which includes familiarity with data-driven techniques for natural language processing, such as statistical / neural MT, or equivalent experience Strong knowledge and professional experience in the field of natural language processing, which includes neural machine translation Detailed knowledge of establishing and evaluating MT software, including testing methodologies and tools, such as automatic quality metrics (BLEU scores and similar) and human evaluation of MT quality Detailed knowledge and experience with programming languages used for text processing (Python) Ability to create prototype solutions promptly and effectively and to evaluate them using substantial amounts of textual data Capability to adapt to the rapidly evolving technologies used in NLP, MT, and machine learning Good command of the English language.
