Job Description

Please note:  This is a remote career opportunity; however, candidates MUST reside in the United States and be authorized to work without sponsorship.

 

This is a full-time role in our New Product organization for professionals with a track record of execution and a desire for rapid expansion within a product organization.  We are seeking a Senior Data Architect with substantial experience in data definition, modeling, and implementation.  

 

This hands-on architect role entails overall design of solutions within our data ecosystem that serves our customers. The successful candidate must have experience in designing data schemas using Kimball/Dimensional modeling and pipelines in Databricks for data warehouses/lakehouses and reporting systems, evaluating diverse technologies and technical solutions, and contributing hands-on to achieving engineering goals for multiple engineering teams. Additionally, as a technical leader within the team, you are expected to mentor and coach your team members. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as either a team lead or manager. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Independently scope and execute tasks. Collaborate with the product team to understand platform capabilities and leverage them to manage the customer’s data estate. 
  • Identify and articulate the technical and operational requirements for data pipelines and the models they populate; optimize these pipelines for high performance/resilient workloads. 
  • Drive excellence in the team's processes, methodologies, standards, and technology choices and instill these values in customer teams and junior staff. 
  • Lead requirements discovery and delivery workshops – help customers understand their options and guide them to the best ones. 
  • Be an advocate for the customers, and support delivery leadership (Director, VPs) in managing client expectations. 
  • Prioritize continuous learning to keep the team and customers informed about the latest developments in the industry.
  • Enjoy teaching and developing technical maturity across the company. 
  • Experience in supporting analytics, data science, and/or engineering teams and understanding their unique needs and challenges.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years overall professional experience including at least 4 years’ experience in designing high-scale, Big Data, Data lakehouse Solutions is REQUIRED 
  • At least 4 years' experience in data modeling (Kimball/Dimensional modeling), schema design patterns, and modern data access patterns (API, streams, data lake) is REQUIRED
  • Proven leadership skills and at least 2 years’ experience dealing directly with clients (client facing) to collect requirements and manage a technical data backlog is REQUIRED. Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and spoken, with a collaborative style are also essential.
  • At least 2 years of practical experience with Databricks and Spark framework is REQUIRED
  • At least 2 years of experience with SQL, confident with complex queries and joins is REQUIRED; familiarity with UDF and/or Stored Procedure development is HIGHLY DESIRED
  • At least 2 years of experience with Azure Data Services including Azure Data Factory, ADLS, and Synapse is HIGHLY DESIRED; significant experience with AWS or another major cloud platform will be considered as a substitute for Azure proficiency.

Base Salary Pay Range*: USD $115,000 – USD $210,000

*This range for the base salary pay is only a general guideline and does not serve as a guarantee of pay or . Salary offers also factor in responsibilities of the job, educational background, experience, knowledge, skills relevant to the role, internal company equity, alignment with market data, and recurring legal requirements.
