Achieving a brighter future for the next generation depends on it. We are looking for a Data Scientist to support our Risk Operations and Strategy team. In this role, you will assist in identifying and evaluating new risk strategies and rules, as well as building data science models that expand strategies beyond rules, and driving innovation in the risk domain. We need someone who enjoys tackling intricate analytical solutions with the enthusiasm, problem-solving skills, and curiosity necessary to uncover precise and actionable insights. As part of the data science and analytics team, you will work closely with data scientists, analysts, analytics engineers, and data engineers on key projects that advance our business. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, a desire to learn, and the ability to work well with others. Responsibilities will include: - Performing exploratory data analysis, building robust reporting, and supporting rule creation and review for the risk strategy and operations team - Building visualizations and insights with tools such as Python and Tableau to support ongoing monitoring and risk team performance analysis - Building machine learning and statistical models to create more predictive risk prevention models and working closely with ML Engineering to ensure these models reach production - Building descriptive and diagnostic analytics that support the overall risk mission - Providing direct support to the risk strategy team in ideation and overall strategic vision for risk strategy - Automating and creating tools to improve the efficiency of risk data operations - Diving into new data sets and identifying errors, inconsistencies, or duplicates in datasets - Supporting risk analysis, strategy, and reporting for new product releases - Creating and maintaining documentation on all projects using pre-defined templates - Communicating the importance of patterns in the data and suggesting solutions Ideal candidates should have: - 4+ years of Data Science or Analytics experience with excellent analytical instincts and the ability to find insights from large amounts of data - Hands-on experience with SQL and advanced skills that allow easy extraction of data from multiple sources for analysis and visualization - Enterprise data warehousing experience, with Snowflake or other cloud-based solutions, and familiarity with modeling and ETL/ELT best practices - Strong experience in Python programming and working in Data Science environments such as Databricks - Solid understanding of machine learning model building and deployment - Prior experience with risk mitigation and analysis is highly preferred - Excellent data visualization and communication skills, preferably with tools ranging from code to dashboarding tools such as Tableau - Entrepreneurial and leadership potential to identify and fill gaps where needed - Insatiable curiosity about data and a proven record of using analytics to drive significant business impact - Ability to thrive in cross-functional environments, bring together different disciplines and viewpoints, and balance competing priorities and deadlines - Proactivity and ability to navigate challenges, anticipate major problems, and create solutions At Greenlight, we strive for an unprecedented goal.
