Role Overview: Data Scientist II
The Data Scientist II will be central to our data-driven decision-making process, leading complex projects in data science, statistical analysis, machine learning, and data modeling. Your proficiency in data manipulation, extraction, and interpretation will drive innovative solutions to boost business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Modeling:
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyze large datasets, uncover patterns, trends, and insights.
- Build predictive models and collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive meaningful business implications from data.
Project Leadership:
- Lead data science projects from inception to completion, including defining scopes, setting milestones, and allocating resources for timely delivery.
Machine Learning and AI:
- Develop, implement, and optimize machine learning algorithms to address complex business challenges.
- Initiate projects involving natural language processing, computer vision, recommendation systems, and other advanced technologies.
- Design and build ETL data subsystems to prepare data for analysis and training.
Data Visualization:
- Effectively communicate findings through clear and engaging data visualizations, making complex concepts accessible to all stakeholders.
Model Deployment:
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate machine learning models into production and internal systems, ensuring scalability and performance.
Data Governance and Ethics:
- Adhere to data governance principles and ethical practices while handling sensitive and confidential information.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists, fostering their professional growth.
- Contribute to the organization's knowledge base by sharing insights, best practices, and emerging trends in data science.
Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and related fields to apply new methodologies to projects.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- BA / BS / MS Degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in Data Engineering/Data Science roles.
- Experience in e-Commerce or direct-to-consumer companies, especially working with customer data metrics.
- Proficiency in data engineering patterns and establishing new data pipelines.
- Expertise in ETL fundamentals and building efficient data pipelines using tools like Glue, EMR, and Spark.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as RDS, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of cloud services, especially AWS.
- Proficient in object-oriented programming, particularly Python.
- Comfortable with ML/DL libraries like Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, and StatsModels.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally and maintain a conducive working atmosphere in a dynamic environment.
- Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain cooperative working relationships with team members.
