Rapsodo Inc. is a sports analytics company that utilizes computer vision and machine learning to help all athletes maximize their performance. Our proprietary technology applications vary from aiding PGA Tour golfers to improve their launch conditions, to helping MLB pitchers enhance the efficiency of their breaking balls. As a Data Analyst Intern at Rapsodo, you'll contribute to strategic decision-making by handling and analyzing complex data sets and translating them into actionable insights. This internship is designed to test and develop your business knowledge, analytical skills, and leadership abilities, offering a solid foundation for a successful career in the sports analytics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing, ensuring data quality for insightful analysis.
- Use advanced statistical methods to extract valuable insights from complex data sets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business issues and create data-driven solutions.
- Prepare and deliver findings and recommendations to stakeholders effectively using visualizations, reports, and dashboards.
- Conduct experiments to test hypotheses, evaluate models, and optimize operations.
- Work closely with our software engineers and BIT teams to develop and implement state-of-the-art algorithms.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Experience in data manipulation, cleaning, and preprocessing techniques.
- Knowledge in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experiment design.
- Familiarity with a wide range of machine learning algorithms, techniques, and libraries.
- Experience in crafting compelling data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to handle large data sets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
