Job Role Introduction:

As the Lead Data Engineer, you will report directly to the Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) Manager. Your role involves leading problem-solving teams across a variety of database platforms, delivering effective recommendations on how to securely manage and optimize data storage and management. You'll also spearhead the development and adoption of cross-platform products and infrastructure sizing strategies for data and analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Your Job:

  • Utilize advanced database features and concepts such as performance tuning effectively.
  • Independently craft data products utilizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts.
  • Address infrastructure needs with innovative solutions for common data-related problems, such as low memory issues.
  • Engage in root-cause analysis during programming errors and devise strategic solutions.
  • Ensure the data engineering codebase is efficiently structured, well-documented, and fully optimized.
  • Develop data requirements and exploratory analyses specific to the domain.
  • Provide guidance on data quality assessments and exploratory analyses to other data engineers.
  • Architect solutions on cloud platforms and build physical data models with minimal guidance.

Other Responsibilities:

Adhere to all company-enforced safety and security protocols to ensure a safe work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or similar roles within digital manufacturing or industrial applications.
  • Expertise in ELT, data analysis, SQL, and programming languages like Pyspark or Python.
  • Proven experience with cloud database technologies (e.g., AWS), data warehouses, and big data technologies like Snowflake.
  • Strong understanding of AGILE methodologies and experience in a cross-functional agile team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Data Science or a related field.
