Position Summary: Lead Data Engineer

Caremark, L.L.C., a CVS Health company, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer based in Woonsocket, RI. You will build, develop, and maintain cloud-native software web applications and systems to support CVS business needs and end customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with cloud-native application development, web development, API integration, and real-time scaling
  • Participate in the software lifecycle including development, testing, CI/CD, and production operations
  • Develop large-scale data structures and pipelines for data organization, collection, and standardization
  • Write ETL processes and design database systems for real-time and offline analytics
  • Collaborate with the Data Science team to integrate algorithms and models into automated processes
  • Leverage knowledge of Hadoop architecture and HDFS commands to build data pipelines
  • Utilize programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages to build robust data solutions
  • Build data marts and models to support internal customers including the Data Science team
  • Integrate data from various sources ensuring data quality and accessibility standards
  • Analyze IT environments to identify critical capabilities and recommend solutions
  • Experiment with and advise on tools to provide optimal solutions for models/use cases

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Specifically, five (5) years of experience in:

  • DevOps tools like GitHub, Circle CI, Octopus CD, or Jenkins
  • XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
  • Application deployment and testing strategies on Google Cloud Platform
  • Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles
  • REST, SOAP, or Web Service APIs
  • JIRA, Rally, or Confluence
  • Microservices/API development using Java, Python, or Node.js
  • Java, Hive, Cassandra, Pig, MySQL, or NoSQL databases
  • Software development for enterprise or web applications
  • Writing high-quality, scalable code
  • Testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting
  • Analyzing large data sets from multiple sources
  • Machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling
  • Analytics in retail and/or healthcare industries
  • SAS or SQL programming languages
  • Databases such as Oracle, Teradata, or DB2
  • Spark, PySpark, or Scala
  • Hadoop architecture and HDFS commands
  • Unix, Linux, or Shell scripting
  • Designing data models and analytical/reporting solutions

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $163,654.00/year to $240,000.00/year. The actual base salary will depend on factors such as experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
