The esteemed High Energy Physics Division (HEPD) at Argonne National Laboratory is excited to offer a position for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. This role is centered around pioneering research in Machine Learning (ML) with applications aimed at High Energy Physics (HEP). We are actively seeking highly skilled individuals proficient in ML algorithms, particularly in unsupervised techniques.
The successful candidate will be tasked with leading projects to develop generalized ML techniques for data quality monitoring and assurance, applicable across various HEP experiments including ATLAS at CERN, DUNE, g-2, Mu2e, LSST-DESC, LZ, SPT, and CMB-S4. Prior experience with data from any of these experiments, while beneficial, is not a necessity.
Collaboration with experts from the Computational Science (CPS) division will be a significant part of this role. Our laboratory is a hub for multidisciplinary research providing a vibrant campus environment conducive to innovation on a national and international stage.
The position is based in Lemont, Illinois, and is initially offered for one year with the potential of renewal for an additional two years.
