Role Overview: Senior AI Time Series Research Engineer

Bring your expertise in multi-modal time series analysis and deep learning technology to Dolby. Your role will require a solid foundation in:

  • Time-series data pre-/post-processing and transformation.
  • Learning-based time series modeling.
  • Time-series representation and compression.
  • Generative time-series processing.
  • Multi-modal time-series tasks.
  • Deep learning techniques.

You will make critical decisions, balancing computational complexity against performance. Your work will involve researching and developing new neural network architectures, training methods, and processing algorithms within the realm of modern computer vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding competitive technologies in your focus area.
  • Identifying system requirements for new technologies.
  • Creating early-stage conceptual models to demonstrate feasibility.
  • Documenting and presenting new architectures and algorithms in technical white papers and internal meetings.
  • Maintaining the highest technical and ethical standards for Dolby in the workplace and marketplace.

Qualifications

We seek candidates with:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, and time series processing.
  • Expertise in computer vision, data compression, and related software.
  • A strong publication record in major machine learning conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML). Publications in domain-specific conferences (e.g., ACL, CVPR, ICASSP) are a plus.

Additional skills and knowledge include:

  • Experience with generative models (e.g., diffusion, GAN, VAE).
  • Proficiency in learning methods (e.g., self-supervised, contrastive learning, meta-learning).
  • Multimedia application knowledge (audio, speech, image, video, text/language).
  • Proficiency in Matlab, C/C++, OpenCV, and Python (Tensorflow/Pytorch) for computer vision applications.

Desired Attributes

  • Self-motivated, quick learner, and strong team player able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in filing patents for newly developed technologies (highly desirable).
  • Hands-on experience applying Time Series and Machine Learning algorithms to real-world problems.
