Position Summary: Senior Data Engineer – Real Time Data Services

As a Senior Data Engineer focusing on Real Time Data Services, you will:

• Collaborate with business partners to identify opportunities using real-time data processing technologies to support Pharmacy Personalization.
• Design highly scalable and extensible application platforms for collecting, storing, modeling, and processing massive data sets in real-time from multiple channels.
• Define and maintain data architecture to enable business solutions through technology.
• Provide recommendations on technology deployment with appropriate timing, based on business relevance.
• Perform architecture design, data modeling, and build real-time platforms and applications for CVS Health.
• Adopt a DevOps mindset to leverage emerging technologies in your solutions.
• Develop prototypes and proof of concepts for selected solutions and carry out complex big data projects.
• Apply creativity to collect, parse, manage, and automate data feedback loops supporting business innovation.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on coding experience in Python (3+ years)
• 3+ years experience in designing and building Microservices
• 3+ years experience with REST API design and development using Python
• 3+ years experience in deploying/scaling apps on containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes, AKS)
• 3+ years experience with real-time and streaming technologies (e.g., Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions, Kafka, Spark Streaming)
• 3+ years experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS)
• Experience building automated big data pipelines
• Experience performing data analysis and data exploration
• Experience working in an agile delivery environment
• Experience with Snowflake
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL Databases, including hands-on query tuning/optimization
• Experience working in multi-developer environments, using version control systems like Git
• Experience with orchestrating pipelines using tools like Airflow and Azure Data Factory
• Experience with data modeling and system architecture design
• Experience working cross-functionally with teams such as data ingestion, data science, and operational systems to align priorities and meet deliverables
• Experience setting coding standards, performing code reviews, and mentoring junior developers
• Understanding of DevOps best practices and CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• Ability to understand complex systems and solve analytical problems quickly
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure/GCP
• Solid understanding of Kafka architecture and building consumers for high volume data streams
• Experience with bash shell scripting, UNIX utilities, and UNIX commands
• Previous healthcare experience and domain knowledge

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Math, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Preferred: Master’s Degree with coursework in advanced algorithms, mathematics in computing, data structures, etc.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $92,700.00 - $206,000.00. This range represents the base hourly rate or annual full-time salary for all positions within this job grade. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. Additionally, this position is eligible for CVS Health's bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range
