In this role, you will be a part of the team shaping Mango's data intelligence, strategy, and architecture. Our Advanced Analytics team develops AI algorithms aimed at optimizing the most challenging retail industry processes and decisions.

The Advanced Analytics Teams and Their Objectives

The Mango Advanced Analytics team consists of Data Scientists, Big Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, Deep Learning Researchers, and Software Engineers working in multidisciplinary squads. These squads aim to develop and refine cutting-edge machine learning algorithms using the latest Big Data and distributed computing platforms.

Each squad focuses on different technical and business challenges:

• Pricing & Stocks Squad: Manages vital platforms for Mango's financial optimization, focusing on price recommendation during promotions and discounts.
• Personalization Squad: Develops AI algorithms for personalized customer experiences on Mango’s website and app.
• Generative AI Squad: Drives innovative initiatives related to generative algorithms for text, image, video, etc.
• Purchasing/Production Squad: Creates data science algorithms for early best-seller detection and production planning.

Due to the importance of Mango's Advanced Analytics projects, each squad has visibility and presents at the executive level.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Data Scientist in Pricing & Stocks

As a Data Scientist focused on Pricing, you will:

• Define, experiment, and implement cutting-edge solutions using predictive and optimization algorithms.
• Utilize our tech stack, including AWS, Terraform, Spark, and Python, to process data with a focus on optimization via SparkUI.
• Orchestrate operations using Apache Airflow and employ Jenkins for CI/CD practices.
• Handle structured and unstructured data to prepare datasets for training models, emphasizing data quality and key variable construction.
• Implement and continuously improve forecasting models, including various Gradient Boosting Machines (GBM), focusing on elasticity modeling.
• Integrate results into our infrastructure using MongoDB, AWS Lambdas-based APIs, and front-end visualizations.
• Collaborate closely with business teams to make data-driven decisions and understand market needs and challenges.

What We Expect From You

• Experience in data science projects focused on pricing promotions.
• Ability to prototype machine learning solutions and lead projects from prototype to production.
• At least 4 years of Python or other object-oriented programming experience.
• Experience with demand forecasting libraries and elasticity modeling.
• Knowledge of optimization algorithms and related Python libraries.
• Interest in programming best practices and software development.
• Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
