Join Synthesia as a Senior DevOps Engineer

DevOps is more than just a team; it's a culture. We're looking to expand our DevOps Team with two Senior/Staff level engineers, specializing in SRE and Platform Engineering respectively.

Role Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Synthesia, you'll work across various disciplines including Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Developer Experience (DX).

Platform Engineering

You'll be responsible for expanding and supporting our cross-product platform, enabling Product Engineering teams to build and run applications efficiently. Our goal is to provide an almost plug-and-play environment for applications, complete with all necessary resources.

SRE (Site Reliability Engineering)

You'll collaborate with Product Engineering teams to build, ship, and support highly reliable services. This includes everything from architectural discussions to deep integrations with tools like Datadog.

Developer Experience (DX)

You'll work on improving the processes and tools that our Engineering teams use, helping them to be more efficient and less frustrated as they move applications from local environments to production.

Key Skills and Experience

Must-Have Qualifications

• Experienced in remote and asynchronous work.
• Strong collaboration skills, both interpersonally and through git-based workflows.
• Comfortable with being on-call (1 in 5 rota).
• Experience in scaling SAAS companies.
• Proficient in infrastructure as code (we use Terraform and Terragrunt).
• Skilled in AWS, particularly with AWS ECS and transitioning to EKS.
• Proven ability to lead impactful projects across multiple teams.
• Finding pragmatic scaling solutions that go beyond simply "adding more AWS resources."

Preferred Skills

• Deep expertise in Datadog, including collaboration with Engineering teams.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, especially on Atlas and Search functionalities.
• Proficiency in NodeJS or Python.
• Experience with Continuous Delivery tooling, specifically GitHub Actions.
• Experience in migrating to and working with Kubernetes (AWS EKS).

Additional Skills

• Experience with Mongo Vector Search.
• Understanding of Workflow Management tools in a SAAS context (Temporal, AirFlow, Argo Workflow).
• Supporting Machine Learning workloads at scale.
• Knowledge of video streaming and hosting.
• Vendor relationship management.
• Incident coordination and management across business units.

Job Details

• Base salary starting at €100,000 (or local equivalent) plus stock options.
