Senior Engineer, Data Pipeline

We are in search of a skilled Senior Data Pipeline Engineer to construct robust large scale data processing and transformation pipelines for our Data Pipelines team within our Data Platform.

The Data Platform develops a scalable compute platform used company-wide, allowing a variety of teams to access data, extract meaningful automated metrics from the data, and perform various ad-hoc analyses. We handle petabyte-scale data and provide crucial functions to enhance the development of reliable autonomous vehicles (AV), enabling various researchers and engineers to understand how the AV performs various tasks and scenarios in real world or simulated environments. The Data Pipelines team is in charge of constructing automated pipelines for data information extraction, data transformation into consumable formats for downstream services, and for constructing interfaces for easy data access.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and sustain scalable data pipelines in the cloud infrastructure
• Construct interfaces to facilitate self-service data pipeline creation
• Write high-quality, maintainable code
• Assist in high-level system design and code reviews
• Communicate with stakeholders and team leads to define system requirements
• Take on strong responsibility and ownership for mentoring

Requirements

• 5+ years professional experience as a data or data pipeline engineer
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Expertise in Python programming and SQL
• Experience with large scale computing
• Familiarity with AWS services and solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, continuous delivery environment

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible and Terraform
• Experience with distributed systems design and architecture
• Experience with Infrastructure Monitoring
• Experience in working with cross-functional development teams
• Experience with microservices
