About the Role
As a Senior Manager, Data Engineering within the Commercial Strategic Data Management team for our Rare Disease Unit, you will lead the transformation, crafting, and deploying of innovative solutions that directly impact patient outcomes. Your primary focus will be leveraging the latest tools, technology, standard processes, and advanced data engineering capabilities in Data Science, AI, and ML. Establish a detailed platform and processes for our team, contributing to business growth.
This role involves close collaboration with the Advanced Analytics team, US Commercial leadership, Sales Field Team, and Field Operations, further enhancing our data science and engineering capabilities to support our commercial needs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Commercial Cross-functional team to discover opportunities for leveraging internal and external data to drive business solutions.
- Work closely with business, IT, and analytical teams to deliver complex data science solutions, contributing to the Commercial Organization.
- Own platforms and processes for complex projects using a broad range of data engineering and data science techniques.
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics strategies, and feature engineering to optimize data efficiency and quality.
- Acquire and maintain data from primary or secondary sources, identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Prioritize business and information needs, leveraging a solid understanding in Snowflake, SQL, Amazon S3, Oracle, and data integration tools (ETL).
- Build data pipelines and drive feature engineering, showcasing strong analytical skills to collect, prioritize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with meticulous attention to detail.
- Identify and define new process improvement opportunities, manage and support data solutions in BAU scenarios, and analyze, interpret, and document data structures.
- Implement efficient Data Management, scale data transformation, and set up Workflow Orchestration for smooth automation.
Qualifications
You will need to have:
- BS/MS in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Economics, etc.), with knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling.
- 5+ years of experience with database skills like SQL, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, AWS cloud, Amazon S3, Oracle, Teradata, Power BI, and Python programming skills.
- Experience in healthcare or biopharmaceuticals, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to work in a cross-cultural environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in support and maintenance projects and the ability to communicate complex methods and results to diverse audiences.
- Hands-on experience working with EHR, administrative claims, and laboratory data, and familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Qlik Sense, Power BI, and Excel charts/reports.
- Knowledge of distributed computing, Big Data Technologies like Hive, Spark, Scala, and statistical tools like Python/R, and experience with Github, HTTP requests and responses, API REST services, Data Tokenization, and Salesforce/Veeva CRM, Data governance, and Data mining algorithms.
We would prefer for you to have:
- Familiarity with data governance and security, distributed computing, and big data technologies, statistical tools like Python/R, and experience with GitHub.
- Prior experience with Data Tokenization, Salesforce/Veeva CRM, and data mining algorithms.
