The Role
We’re seeking a dedicated platform engineer to help us build, secure, and scale our leading natural language understanding products. Collaborate with our application and machine learning engineers to deploy services using Terraform and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You’ll also secure integrations with our customers and partners. As part of a small, cooperative team, your impact will be significant.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with application engineers to build and deploy reliable, performant, and secure infrastructure for mobile and web-based applications.
- Collaborate with engineers and customers to establish secure integrations between Abridge and healthcare systems.
- Enable application teams to adopt a "you build it, you run it" approach by providing tools and processes for monitoring performance, availability, and reliability.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering velocity and lead efforts to implement those improvements through tooling and processes.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and other essential parts of our cloud-based development infrastructure.
- Advocate for and implement security best practices at Abridge.
- Create and maintain clear, relevant, and accurate documentation.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in infrastructure-as-code within a cloud-first organization.
- Experience maintaining Kubernetes clusters and creating helm charts for application deployments.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance for both infrastructure and application code deployments (e.g., Terragrunt, Atlas, ArgoCD, Octopus Deploy, Travis CI).
- Expertise in implementing and securing services on Google Cloud Platform as infrastructure-as-code, including GCP Projects, VPC Networks, Google Kubernetes Engine, and IAM roles and policies.
- Proficient in backend scripting languages (e.g., Python, GoLang, JavaScript, Rust, Bash).
- Up-to-date on industry best practices and tools, with a passion for continuous learning.
- Excited to be hands-on in a fast-moving, productive, and supportive environment.
- Willingness to assist across various roles as needed in a startup environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
