Job Opportunity: TA Strategy Director, Immunology

Location: East Hanover, NJ OR Cambridge, MA (Hybrid)

Job Purpose

Lead strategic business projects for Novartis Group, the CEO, and the Executive Committee (ECN).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop expertise in 1-2 key immunology domains.
• Coordinate activities of the Immunology Therapeutic Area Leadership group (TAL).
• Build a network of subject matter experts within and outside the NVS organization.
• Create lasting strategic capabilities that empower local teams to achieve project objectives.
• Serve as a sparring partner for leaders within various NVS departments.
• Independently manage a small portfolio of strategic projects prioritized by Novartis Group, the CEO, and the Executive Committee.
• Contribute actively to Global/Unit Strategic Planning processes.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

• Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MBA) or equivalent in life science/healthcare preferred.
• At least 5+ years of industry experience in pharma, especially in R&D or commercial functions.
• In-depth knowledge of therapeutic areas (TA) or a quick learner to gain the required expertise.
• Highly agile with the ability to support multiple strategic disease areas and programs.
• Experienced in strategy development and early lifecycle asset shaping.
• US market experience through brand teams, market access, or consulting.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Strong communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with financial modeling and business development.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $201,600 to $302,400 per year. Please note that salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on market conditions and various factors like geographical location, experience level, knowledge, and skills.

The total compensation package may include a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, discretionary awards, and a complete range of medical, financial, and other benefits, including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits. Details will be provided upon receiving an employment offer.
