Job Opening: Adjunct Instructor for Data Analytics Courses at Ivy Tech Bloomington

Ivy Tech Community College's Bloomington campus is currently seeking a part-time adjunct instructor to teach Data Analytics courses for the School of IT for the upcoming fall semester.

Course Details

We are specifically looking for individuals who can teach the following courses:

  • DBMS 160 - Data Visualization: Tuesdays, 6pm-9pm, starting in August
  • DBMS 110 - Intro to Data Analytics: Mondays and Wednesdays, 2pm-4pm, starting in October

Compensation and Hours

Adjunct instructors can teach between 1-12 contact hours per week at a rate of $46.50 per contact hour.

Interested applicants should apply as soon as possible but no later than July 14th. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Responsibilities

Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis and are responsible for creating a learning environment that helps students achieve their goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives
  • Utilizing available technology to enhance instructional methods
  • Developing and maintaining course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials
  • Maintaining accurate student records and grades
  • Engaging with students in meaningful ways that lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College
  • Interacting professionally and cooperatively with students and co-workers
  • Adhering to College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations
  • Implementing emergency and safety procedures as necessary

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other applicable regulatory requirements and professional standards.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in database, data analytics, information systems, or a related field. Additionally, candidates must provide documentation in two or more of the following areas:

  • Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field
  • Two years of in-field professional employment
  • Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award
  • Documentation of research and publication in the field
  • Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military training
