About the Role

As a Data Engineer at Enlighten, you will be integral to the acquisition and management of mission-critical data sets. Working closely with our experts, you will design and implement data solutions tailored to our clients in the military sector.

Whether you're experienced as a developer, analyst, or engineer, your expertise will be invaluable in providing high-quality data solutions. You'll work with data structures, algorithms, and software design principles to build and optimize our data pipeline and analytics systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data models and schema designs that support our analytics needs.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance and scalability of our data infrastructure.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality code and system reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Current Secret level security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • 5+ years as a developer, analyst, or engineer with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 3 years with a Master's; or 9 years with a High School Diploma.
  • Proficiency in Python and Java.
  • Expertise in acquiring and understanding network data and associated metadata.
  • Fluency in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), including data prep and labeling.
  • Experience with Kibana and Elasticsearch.
  • Familiarity with log formats such as JSON and XML.
  • Experience with data flow, management, and storage solutions like Kafka, NiFi, and AWS S3/SQS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience with ETL, data modeling, and schema design.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule with the local team.
  • DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification required.

Preferred

  • Experience with NoSQL databases like Accumulo.
  • Previous experience in cyber or network security operations within a large enterprise.
