Data Engineer II
The Role: As a Data Engineer II, you will function as an analyst within an agile scrum team on a newly established, state-of-the-art cloud native platform designed to gather, interpret, and govern large, varied datasets. This role involves closely collaborating and sharing KPIs with internal Data Owner teams, Technology Cloud Ops and SRE teams, whilst also directly engaging with external source data providers and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out data analysis using a range of database query and visualization tools to identify and comprehend issues or events
• Deliver technical expertise in extracting, integrating, and analyzing critical data
• Showcase technical expertise in generating dynamic reports on Data Analytics output, Coverage, Key Metrics
• Facilitate decision-making by retrieving and compiling data from numerous sources to present it in a comprehensible and actionable format
• Write test case scenarios, prepare test data and carry out User Acceptance testing
• Produce documentation, reports and dashboards to aid the efficient management and operation of the platform
• Troubleshoot Production Incidents on Data
• Handle customer queries, tickets on business/data rules and insights
Key Requirements:
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Experience being part of one or more agile teams and working with SCRUM methodology
• Strong data knowledge, preferably around business data sets, with demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities and the capacity to use data and metrics to support assumptions, develop business cases, and undertake root cause analyses
• Experience in managing customers/production tickets, incident management
• Solid Data Modelling & Mapping acumen along with experience in XML & JSON document formats
• Knowledge of ETL & Data Processing using Cloud-Based Technologies (AWS Preferred)
• Ability to develop Reports using any reporting tool or custom reporting with Excel or others to document metrics, Data Quality, Data Coverage…
• Basic coding abilities with Python or Java or other is beneficial
• Powerful communication abilities with the capacity to collaborate and build cross team relations
• Proven capacity to achieve results and to implement complex, technical, multi-organizational programs
• Enthusiastic and curious about data with the ability to query and analyze datasets in order to drive fact-based decisions
• A Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Economics, Mathematics or similar
