About the Role

As our next Data Integration Engineer, you'll be part of a mission-focused, solutions-oriented, and adaptive team that values innovation, collaboration, and professional development. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring data pipelines for both R&D prototypes and production purposes. You'll thrive on cross-functional collaboration with development, product, and QA teams in a fast-paced environment.

Although most of the work will be conducted on-site at our client's location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule. Some unclassified development tasks may be performed remotely, with the percentage of remote work varying based on client requirements and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform database builds, installs, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting for systems like MariaDB/MySQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Qdrant, and Milvus.
• Ensure data integrity using best practices in data engineering.
• Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and system diagrams for databases and data pipelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience, or a Master’s Degree with 10+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, FAISS, Milvus, Qdrant).
• Experience designing and maintaining ETL and ELT pipelines with technologies like Spark, Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, Argocd, Metaflow, and Kubeflow.
• Experience with DevOps / MLOps methodologies, including CI/CD with data pipelines and cloud-native deployment paradigms.
• An active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Proficiency in database design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Strong skills in data profiling techniques and understanding data quality from both a business and technical perspective.
• Experience with data quality and accuracy evaluation techniques.
• Proficiency in agile methodologies.
• Development experience with Python.
• Experience in data model development, modification, migration, and maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High enthusiasm and teamwork capability, as well as the ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills

• An active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience supporting data teams and data scientists.
• Experience with production/enterprise systems.
• Work experience in air-gapped environments.
• Application development and deployment in an AWS environment.
• AWS certifications.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
