Project Manager - Data Science at Ford Motor Company

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight: Collaborate with the Delivery Manager in Data Science to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Project Execution: Plan and manage the execution of data science projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and engineers, for effective project execution.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth project progress.
Feasibility Management: Ensure technical feasibility by managing resource allocation, timeline estimation, and technical task integration.
Communication: Facilitate clear communication between project team members and stakeholders, ensuring expectations and project progress are well understood.
Best Practices Promotion: Promote best practices in data science and project management, mentoring junior staff and contributing to their professional development.

Qualifications

Educational Background: MS/PhD in Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related fields. PhD preferred.
Experience: 4+ years demonstrated experience in leading data science projects with a strong foundation in machine learning, statistical analysis, and natural language processing (NLP).
Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge and practical experience with data science methodologies, tools, machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (Pytorch, TensorFlow, Keras), data manipulation libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-Learn), and advanced analytics tools and software.
Project Management: Solid understanding and experience managing project timelines, deliverables, and resources in a technical or data science environment.
Communication Skills: Excellent ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications

Project Management: Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

Technical Tool Knowledge

Data Manipulation: Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-Learn.
Deep Learning: Pytorch, TensorFlow, Keras.
Analytics & Visualization: Alteryx, Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI.
Database Management: SQL, NoSQL.
Cloud Computing: Proficient in GCP for ML Ops deployments.
Big Data Technologies: Hadoop, Spark.
Programming/Scripting Languages: Python/R; C/C++, Java (optional).
Development & Version Control: Git, CI/CD pipelines.
