Data Science at ASML

Our Data Science division sits at the intersection of deep functional knowledge of our high-tech scanners and cutting-edge data-driven analytics on our Data and Digital Platform. As a Data Scientist focused on Predictive Maintenance, you will translate complex business issues into data-centric problems, crafting tailored models that drive significant value from data in collaboration with subject matter experts.

Experience in technical domains such as Lithography, and a deep understanding of other related functions at ASML, are crucial to succeed in this transformative role.

Role and Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Independently conducting creative investigations and complex predictive maintenance modeling.
  • Developing and implementing Machine Learning models including Signal & Image Processing, State Space Modeling, and Pattern Recognition.
  • Collaborating closely with domain experts to leverage existing knowledge, validate relationships between variables, and interpret model outcomes.
  • Maintaining rigorous documentation and promoting knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Advancing data science methodologies and competences within your team.
  • Leveraging your professional network to enhance collective knowledge and technical capabilities.

Education and Experience

To excel in this dynamic environment, you will need:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Physics, Computer Science, Applied Statistics, or Applied Mathematics.
  • At least 3 years of industrial experience in Data Science, demonstrating strong competence in algorithm development and statistical machine learning.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and frameworks like Pandas, Scikit-Learn, PyMC, TensorFlow/PyTorch, with a proven track record in predictive and statistical modeling.
  • Practical knowledge in signal and image processing and familiarity with Bayesian modeling, optimization, and diagnostics methodologies.
  • Experience with ML model deployment and large-scale computing is desirable.

Working Environment

You will join a multidisciplinary team comprised of Data Scientists, Engineers, Physicists, and IT experts dedicated to designing and deploying scalable ML pipelines. This team focuses on developing advanced predictive and diagnostic tools aimed at identifying causality and correlations in complex lithography tools to enhance system performance and maintenance.
