Meta is seeking a dedicated Director of Data Engineering to steer our world-class data strategy, working alongside top-tier professionals in Product Management, Data Science, Software Engineering, and Machine Learning. Key Responsibilities:

In this vital position, you will:

• Lead the strategic vision for data and analytics, aligning with the goals of our Infrastructure organization.
• Pioneer technical and process enhancements, advancing our data engineering capabilities.
• Implement and refine processes to achieve excellence in data accuracy, privacy, and systems reliability while fostering rapid experimentation and data-driven decisions.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a top-tier data engineering team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to meet their data requirements.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of new data models and pipelines in production environments.
• Establish and oversee SLAs for all data sets and operational processes.
• Enhance data integrity across various product sectors and business units, delivering impactful dashboards, data sets, and visualizations.
• Augment the overall data engineering proficiency within Meta.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Over 12 years of experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Data Warehousing.
• Demonstrated ability to scale and manage teams upwards of 20 members, including managerial roles.
• Proven track record of leadership in a highly cross-functional environment, preferably in Engineering, Product Management, or Data Science.
• Proficiency in SQL or similar querying languages and development experience in at least one object-oriented programming language (Python, Java, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of data architecture and A/B testing methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Experience in machine learning development lifecycle and large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in automating data auditing and familiarity with large volume data handling, Hive/Presto, and advanced data visualization tools.

Location and Compensation:

This position is based at Meta's headquarters with a base salary ranging from $253,000 to $314,000 per year, plus bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience and location.
