The Enterprise People Technology team at Walmart supports the deployment and adoption of new People technology across the enterprise. What You'll Do

Data Strategy

Understand, articulate, and apply the principles of defined data engineering and analytics strategy to meet Walmart Associate Area Business needs.

Data Source Identification

Support the prioritization of requirements and service level agreements. Identify the most suitable data source for each purpose.

Data Modeling

Analyze complex data elements, systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual, physical, and logical data models. Define relational tables, primary and foreign keys, and stored procedures to create data model structures.

Data Transformation and Integration

Extract data from identified databases, create data pipelines, and transform data using appropriate techniques.

Data Governance

Establish, modify, and document data governance projects and recommendations, partnering with business stakeholders and peers. Interpret and implement company and regulatory policies on data.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Google Cloud Platform, and Big Query.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, etc.).
• Ability to clean and transform data from different sources into standardized formats.
• Proficiency in query optimization to improve performance and reduce processing times for large datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues during data integration and schema evolution processes.
