Position Summary:
Looking for an experienced data pipeline builder who enjoys optimizing data systems and creating them from scratch. This role will require coordination across all branches of our organization to guide and support our engineers, data scientists, data analysts, and product teams. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about designing our company's long-term cloud data architecture from the ground up to support our products and data initiatives.
Responsibilities:
1. Establish and maintain a data architecture based on automated ingestion, data security, compliance, and governance.
2. Implement the infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using AWS data primitives.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders including the Product, BI, and Design teams to address data-related technical challenges and support their data infrastructure needs.
4. Develop both functional and non-functional requirements.
5. Support analytics through tools, processes, and pipelines.
6. Build and maintain the infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from different sources.
7. Participate in the full development life cycle.
8. Encourage adherence to data standards and best practices.
9. Mentor others in all aspects of data management, lifecycle, security, and compliance.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Skills in working with structured and non-structured datasets.
2. 5+ years' experience with AWS cloud services like SQS, Kinesis, S3, Athena, Redshift.
3. 5+ years' experience with scripting languages like Python, Scala.
4. 10+ years in leadership roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. 5+ years working at a SAAS company
2. Proficiency in message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable data stores like Amazon Redshift.
3. Exceptional communication skills.
4. Comfortable communicating with all levels of management.
5. Able to prioritize tasks and work independently.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Experience in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail.
