About the Role

At Walmart, you will:

• Process extensive datasets using distributed computing platforms, derive insights, predict trends, and optimize key business metrics.
• Develop advanced machine learning and deep learning models for marketing applications like recommendation systems and page content enhancement across millions of pages.
• Conduct large-scale statistical A/B testing to assess the performance of ML models, driving millions of eCommerce clicks daily.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, you'll need:

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Optimization, or a related field, plus 4 years' experience in machine learning/deep learning.
• Strong skills in sourcing, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets using Python, R, SQL, Spark, Hive, etc.
• Familiarity with traditional and modern ML/statistical techniques including A/B testing, Causal Inference, Regression, Classification, Ensemble Methods, Deep Learning, and NLP/LLM.
• Experience in end-to-end modeling projects.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

The following will give you an edge:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Optimization, or a related field, plus 2 years’ experience in machine learning.
• 2+ years of experience mentoring junior data scientists.
• Experience in SEO, computational advertising, recommendation systems, e-commerce, or related fields.
• Proficient in programming languages like Java, Python, or Scala with industry-scale ML model production experience.
