About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Staff Release Manager with a strong technical focus to lead our release management lifecycle in a fast-paced environment. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact our growing company by evaluating and guiding our current release processes and partnering with various teams to optimize these processes.
The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills, experience with release train and CI/CD models, and a proven ability to navigate teams through technological transitions. This role demands strategic direction, guidance, and mentorship to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
The Staff Release Manager will overcome challenges, resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and employ strong negotiation skills. Success in this position requires reliability, sound judgment, and the power to influence through analytical thinking and effective leadership.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire release management lifecycle, including strategic planning, coordinating, and managing releases with cross-functional leaders for seamless feature deployment.
- Conduct release readiness and engineering go/no-go reviews.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team to assign responsibilities, allocate resources, and develop schedules for timely and quality releases, while working closely with QA teams.
- Implement automated testing processes to enhance QA efforts and release reliability.
- Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes throughout the release process, providing regular updates on status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management.
- Navigate through ambiguity while defining a clear path forward.
- Stay informed about high-risk changes and take measures to mitigate their impact.
- Strive for ongoing improvements in the release process maturity.
- Identify opportunities to optimize release processes, tools, and workflows.
- Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance the efficiency and reliability of software releases.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a Release Manager.
- Experience with agile release cycles.
- Release management experience in a SaaS environment, handling multiple products and regions.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through software or system upgrades.
- Effective communication skills with both engineers and non-technical teams.
- Strong background in forming relationships and influencing others.
- Self-starter with a high level of motivation, accustomed to working in fast-paced, ever-changing environments.
- Strong leadership skills, strategic planning abilities, and deep understanding of CI/CD processes.
