About the Company
At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will change how we travel, carry goods, and do business.
Torc has been a leader in autonomous driving since 2007 and has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now part of the Daimler family, we are solely focused on developing software for automated trucks to revolutionize how the world transports goods.
Join us and boost your career with the company that pioneered autonomous technology, and was the first AV software company to directly partner with a truck manufacturer.
Meet the Team:
This team applies engineering, statistical, and programming skills to gather, analyze, and interpret large diverse data sets. They utilize experiences with vehicles, sensing hardware, and autonomous driving systems. In addition, the team develops robust, transparent cloud-based, primarily serverless, data analysis pipelines that provide consistent feedback to the organization on safety performance. They collaborate with individuals from various disciplines to understand their processes, integrate workflows, and create analyses that support team-level and executive-level decision-making.
What you'll do:
- Proactively research and access internal and external big data sources; perform exploratory analyses to evaluate internal variable completeness and relevance; investigate new domains; integrate data across disparate domains and data types.
- Develop cloud-based, primarily serverless, workflows to transform raw data; integrate and preprocess data from various domains (sensing, physics, video, meteorology, geospatial, content analysis, etc.).
- Work within various database architectures to retrieve and store data.
- Apply physics/engineering principles and formulas to appropriately transform and filter raw data; apply knowledge of statistics to characterize uniformity, accuracy, outliers.
What you’ll need to Succeed:
- Degree(s) in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or a related technical field with relevant experience
- Professional experience with vehicle engineering, physics, transportation, data science, and statistical analytics.
- Demonstrable programming and serverless cloud-based infrastructure competency, particularly in Python’s engineering, data science, visualization libraries and SQL.
Bonus Points!
- Training in systems safety and/or the transportation industry.
- Experience in the autonomous or automotive industry.
